Eli hasn't looked too the past few years. What would it do for his legacy if he called it a day and just retired early? 2 Super Bowl wins for the biggest media market team is nothing to scoff at.

He'd still be pretty well respected

That's my point. He should quit while he is ahead.

Eh, Warner put up some pretty incredible stats. Not very comparable IMO.

Obviously, it all depends on what he does from here. I don't think him retiring now will be looked on favorably. You're supposed to do it after a SB win or a good season, not when you look like shite.

I dropped him as my back up in fantasy in favor of Ryan Mallett.

He is a sure fire hall of fame player with multiple Super Bowls.

He'll probably get in, and that's a shame.

If Eli walked away today, he would be a borderline HoF quarterback.

I have a feeling he is going to have a career "second wind", and put all doubt away.

His stats will never say "HOF caliber". The only argument in favor is the rings.

No two time Superbowl winning qb has ever been denied the hof. why start with him.

Big Ben will get in too.

I fully acknowledge that he will probably get in, but I don't think he should. He's not a great QB.

ETA: I posted this same thing in the most recent "should Eli got into the HOF" thread.

Eli Manning

2013
32nd comp %
35th rating

2012
17th comp %
14th rating

2011
14th comp %
7th rating

2010
9th comp %
17th rating

2009
13th comp %
11th rating

2008
19th comp %
14th rating

2007
29th comp %
25th rating

2006
21st comp %

That doesn't look like a HOF career. The only thing in his favor is the rings.

If he retired tomorrow he wouldn't get in the hof.

Idk about that. People love the rings argument. shite, look at every QB discussion on TD. It always goes back to rings.

Probably? He's a lock. He's going to finish his career with nearly 400 TD passes and over 60,000 passing yards, not to mention his hardware.

All of those stats and was never even close to being the best QB in the league, in any year.
