Montgomery,38, who was on his first hunt, said the alligator thrashed around and even bit a hole in the front of their 16-foot aluminum boat before they got a snare around him, shot him in the base of the neck and towed him to shore.

Damn Mississippi boys shooting gators in the neck

i dont care about the shot placement. The skin is probably not the best anyway. As for the lizard himself, frick him. If you ever go to Venice, La.or fish south of Dularge when its warm you'll be convinced they need to extend gator season and thin out the population even more. Glad these guys got rid of this one. You can bet he has eaten his share of deer, dogs, deer dogs, and everything else.

Just rolled a 8 or 9 footer into the boat

Will post pics after I get it dropped off and back to the office.

That's a big SOB. My cousin got popped for killing one out of season about ten years ago up in Kosciusko. I think he made the mistake of transporting it from farm to farm with the tailgate down. Dumbass.

Must have been the nerves while it was dying but that fricker had me jump to the back of the boat when it clawed the deck and tried to roll

Had 2 lines still up, 1 was down with no chicken and no gator, and this one was about 50 yards past that.

We had an 8'er & a 85 lb snapping turtle come back to life in the boat at the same time, you ought to have seen that shite

But I thought every alligator caught on swamp people was 1,000 pounds plus?
