Most Valuable Player vs. Most Outstanding Player

In YOUR opinion... is there and should there be any difference? I know that the media has their opinion, but I want to know what Joe Fan thinks.
Personally I could go either way on this. If some one os the most OUTSTANDING player in his or her league, then they should have the most value. But if his or her team is garbage, can value be measured??

there is a difference, but rarely is it done in practice.
In MLB, Trout should win it EASILY every year since he's insanely good and his contract is a joke

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Depends on the player, team, and sport in question.

Depends.

The best player on the best team may not be as valuable to his team as the best player on an average team. One reason why I think the heisman is a joke.
