I did this too and ended up with Forte, Bernard, and Ellington. I'm pretty happy about it.
I was still able to get Roddy White, Patterson, Decker, Terrance Williams, Hunter, and Boykin. No studs but I'm happy with the way it turned out.

Yes, but it turned out ok. I wouldn't sweat it.

I think you went way too early on Vereen. I grabbed him in the 6th in my 12 team league
In a 12 team PPR, Vereen is gone by the end of the 4th in any league of people who know what they're doing. For some reason, espn/yahoo/etc. have him absurdly low in their rankings.. which causes him to fall way lower than he should in amateur leagues.

12 team?
Roddy and Patterson is a good starting WR group.

If it's PPR he's gone by the 4th in a competent 10 team league. His PPR value his really high.

Agree. I wouldn't have been able to grab him in the fourth. I believe the top remaining RB in the 4th rd of our draft was CJ Spiller/Toby Gerhart/Ryan Mathews. Jennings and Zacy were the last two picks in the 3rd round.

Yeah, 12 team. I'm happy with how it worked out.

Did the same from the 3 hole in my 12 teamer and it went like this:
1. (3) Jamaal Charles (KC - RB)
2. (22) Andre Ellington (Ari - RB)
3. (27) Le'Veon Bell (Pit - RB)
4. (46) Cordarrelle Patterson (Min - WR)
5. (51) Jordan Cameron (Cle - TE)
6. (70) Michael Crabtree (SF - WR)
7. (75) Ray Rice (Bal - RB)
8. (94) Justin Hunter (Ten - WR)
9. (99) Russell Wilson (Sea - QB)
10. (118) Markus Wheaton (Pit - WR)
11. (123) Knowshon Moreno (Mia - RB)
12. (142) St. Louis (StL - DEF)
13. (147) Nate Freese (Det - K)
14. (166) Ben Roethlisberger (Pit - QB)
15. (171) Travis Kelce (KC - TE)
Reached on Hunter and Wheaton I think.

Hopefully people see this thread and realize why 3 RBs off the bat is a bad idea

I don't think it's a bad idea at all, especially in a standard league.
I had the 10th pick in a 12 team standard and went RB/RB/RB, Foster/Murray/Bell. I got Andre Johnson and Patterson as my 2 starting WR's. Not great, but not bad either.

How's that? it's a full point PPR league and WR is a pretty deep postilion.
Are you saying Fitz, Maclin, and Colston don't have the potential for 70+ catches each? Luck went one pick before I was up so I had to take Brady, who isn't throwing to a bunch of intramural receivers.

no
It all depends on value and how you rank your players.
For instance, I went Charles/Foster/Martin with my first three picks. I had those three as top 15 picks.
It was either Martin in the third or a WR I had a fourth-round grade on. No point reaching.
Ended up with Cruz/Crabtree/Harvin/Hunter as my top four WRs. I consider Crabtree a top 12 WR, so I was happy with how it turned out.
Worst comes to worst, if one of your RBs breaks out, you can package them with a low-end WR to get one of the elite WRs
