I'd like to be in the room when these game show guys first pitch their ideas. 
Imagine the competitions that DON'T make it to TV over there.

The show the guys are doing that for is pretty funny actually. I randomly stumbled across their show with a friend one time just going through youtube videos.
The guys watching and laughing in a separate room host a variety show called Gaki No Tsukai that has been on for like 30 years.
Each year they do a New Years Eve Special where they spend 24 hours together in some themed environment. They are not allowed to laugh or they get punished (in a variety of ways most are painful). If you can find the subtitled ones they are absolutely hilarious and I believe its one of the most popular shows in Japan.
Here's a link to one where one guy lost a bet and was forced to get pies thrown at him all day while going through his "daily routine"
