As Above So Below (2014)

First of all, if youre claustrophobic like me this may be a tough movie to watch. Like in The Descent there are some scenes that will make you hold your breath until you realize youre doing it. It was well done, but you have to be able to handle the shaky camera type films to enjoy it. Alot of tension , them being underground so long really made me feel like i was down there with them. The characters were solid, and the story was plausible enough.
Ill give it a 7/10

I was shocked when I saw Bloody Disgusting call this movie "the scariest movie in years"
Here is part of their review:
I definitely will be checking this one out

The film has a sort of Last Crusade vibe to it, until they finally enter the actual Catacombs. Once down there, what begins as cliche horror quickly turns into a carnival ride of terror.
The best way to describe the movie is to liken it to a Halloween haunt maze – what’s scary is being trapped in small space, heading in one direction, and not knowing what’s hiding around each and every corner. The biggest difference is that, while a maze is a “safe place,” these Catacombs are a physical manifestation of HELL.
Unlike many of its ilk, As Above, So Below actually crosses over into the unknown and takes viewers literally into Hell. When the horror elevates, the scares start coming in troves, making it impossible to breathe. (I can’t even to begin to tell you how fricked things get without spoiling it.)
I definitely will be checking this one out

Damn, that's a solid review.
I will see this eventually despite the awful title name.

Can't wait to see this one.

Here's the lost man footage... frick that shite
Nothing happens on that aside from someone dropping a camera in the dark. I've never heard of this before, but google tells me that it may be a hoax anyway.
As much as I don't really buy into ghosts, those things are places that I'd never want to choose to go. I bet it's creepy as frick down there.

Could quite possibly be one, not saying it isn't.... But the mind can wonder, especially with how deep he was down there and the footage running for a good while longer and him not coming back through.
In the netherworld on Travel Channel, they go down with the Paris police department and the cops get lost down there.
frick that shite

I've been through the old catacombs in Lima, Peru and I'm good with not ever fricking with that shite. Particularly in places like Paris which I can only imagine are much more expansive and untouched given the history of plague, revolution, and war.

I think a shaky camera is a necessity for this type of movie and they pulled it off well

I'll agree with the 7/10...definitely worth a watch.

A buddy of mine saw it this weekend and said it was an absolute shite pile.
Are you guys saying it's actually worth a look. The wife and I are interested because we have actually been in the Paris Catacombs...so we were curious about the movie.

I haven't been in the catacombs so i cant tell you if the setting was comparable but i really think if he said it was a shitpile then he went in with a preconceived notion and never changed it. Whether or not you were scared, or challenged, or intrigued , it was entertaining

I saw it. Mix of Blair Witch and Descent. Way better than Blair witch though, don't worry. The story left me a little confused but whatever, it was solid.
The shaky camera is not annoying here.
I've never been in real catacombs so I can't tell you how realistic any of it was
