Should I but an "outdoor" tv or just buy an led tv and keep it covered when I'm not using it? Baton Rouge weather. Anyone have any experiences?

Depends where you are going to place it outdoors. If it is under cover and out of direct rain then any LED will do fine for a few years. I have one on my back porch/pool area and it lasts about 3-4 years then finnally craps out from the humidity and dust. But i'd rather buy a new set at $270. every 4 years than pay the thousands they want for the completely weather proof outdoor set.

Yea it'll be under a covered porch. Thinking cheap and large size cause I'll only watch during football season. Thanks.

I just went through this situation. One of the most important things to look at in the tv itself is the ambient temperature operating range. I ended up going with an RCA 55" from Sam's. It allows for 32-122 degrees, I'll never be using outside of those temps. I bought a marine grade cover from Amazon. I also put a lock on it for security.

55" RCA $478 at Sam's Club

55" Outdoor TV Cover from Amazon

Security Lock Kit

Here's a couple pics of the setup.

A TV made for outdoors will last longer, but TVs get outdated pretty quickly anyway. So by the time your regular TV goes out there will probably be a bigger one avail for cheaper

I have had an off the shelf WMart TV on my screen porch for 6-7 years, never covered, 24/7. Knock the pollen off the screen in the spring and it's good to go.

Is the TV brick-proof for when Bert gets away from the running game?

I know multiple people that have just used LCD or LED tvs outside (under cover) for a few years. Don't spend an arm and a leg when you can get a 40" LED from Wal Marks for <$300
