Hunting in Texas for dove tommorrow. I forgot to bring my ed card. I have my Texas hunting license but it does not have my ed number on it.

Am I screwed? Anyway I can find the number on the internet? Advice?

My brother and his wife got ticketed last year for not having it while dove hunting. You just have to provide proof you have it before your court date and the ticket is waived I'm pretty sure.

So even if I have a lifetime license? I mean, I'm pretty sure I needed the hunter's ed card to get it.

So after this thread I went and dug mine up. I now have my boaters license handy as well.

My hunters ed card got all cracked up from being rough on the wallet. My boaters safety card, I don't think I ever actually saw it. I guess I need to get both of those.

The only live human that even asked to see my Hunters Ed card in TX was an Academy store dude back in like 2004. Only been checked by a handful of greenjeans in TX and none of them asked to see it. I think you are safe even if you get checked and ticketed if you can prove it before your court date.

when I said I've never been checked, it's cause they didn't have em then,, and the more I think about it, I don't think my oldest son had to have one either?

Thanks for the link. For some reason my info is not pulling up. Took the class when I was 10 in Oakdale, LA. Oh well. I called my wife and she took a picture of my hunters ed card and send it to me on my iPhone. Maybe the game warden will accept a picture.

If you are hunting in a paid field for opening day you might want to have a number. I've hunted there and opening day in those field the wardens are everywhere checking everything.
