I saw earlier today that Jeff Demps was released by the Bucs...If you remember he was the speedster out of Florida, originally picked up the Patriots then traded to Tampa for LeGarrett Blount.......I know there would be a some time involved to get the playbook down, but I'm curious if he wouldn't be an upgrade over Cadet in the return game & 3rd down/scat back type roll......With the way the running game has been looking in preseason & PT looking good I'm the 3rd down roll we could probably afford the first game or two to have Demps sit & learn the playbook if he wouldn't be ready week 1......I think it could be an interesting pickup for the future because I'm sure Payton could find a roll for him

To me Cadet really hasn't shown a whole lot to me to believe that his production couldn't be easily replaced......From how Payton before camp about giving Cadet the opportunity to fill Sproles' position then to have him now not doing that tells me that he obviously wasn't getting the job done....Not saying Demps is a sure thing by any means because he has now been through 2 teams, but seems like his immediate production wouldn't be too hard to match Cadet's & his ceiling would seem like it's much higher....Just my .02

Agreed. Cadet just doesn't impress me at all. He seems to have a very good idea of what to do as a back, but just isn't quite good enough to do it.

I think Cadet would make a great RB coach at the college level. As I said, he does seem to know what he's doing in all phases of the game... but can't cut it at the NFL level.

If Demps is great, the Saints should try to swing a trade for Eric Page. He was the actual punt and kick returner for the Bucs last year and was active for all 16 games. He also managed to get in on offense a little bit as well.
