frick xfinity WiFi hotspots

I connected to one the other day thinking it would be cool to have access anywhere but all it did was destroy my data connection on my phone as it constantly flips over to Wi-Fi when driving around town but never long enough to connect so nothing works on my phone.
Solution? Forget the xfinity network.
