Changing laws for donating in elections.

A lot of talk about the Koch brothers using their money. And Sorros does it also and now Bloomberg using his anti gun money trying to influence politics in other states. What do ya'll think about a law that would state no outside money can be contributed to state and local election campaigns? Also something so the president can only fundraise for his own campaign. If he is not up for reelection then he needs to be president and not a fundraiser. Just curious to what ya'll think.

I like this a lot.
I'm mixed as far as who can contribute whatever amount and to whatever election; I believe in free enterprise. If the voters would just do a little research themselves they'd know why our country is in the shape it's in and the amount of money wouldn't matter.

The problem with that is if you pay taxes, you should be able to contribute to a campaign. It sucks, but it's the way it needs to be.
When your tax dollars will be spent, you should have the voice to influence the vote.
Now, that said, it would be AWESOME if the only people who could run ads were the campaigns themselves. Because these outside groups are just rhetoric and nearly all false ads.

I like this.
The money issue in elections isn't near as much of a problem as money changing hands after they are elected.

The fundraising game cuts both ways. Without outside money... only "the rich" would have a chance. I do to see that as an improvement.
If anything we don't have enough fundraising. Not enough people participate in elections. They b*tch about them, but they don't help someone they actually approve of win by donating their time not money.
Say what you will about the Tea Party, but they seem to be one of few factions in America today that seem to get this.

No I am saying only people in the area for the election can donate. Like if its in Louisiana only if you are a resident of Louisiana can you contribute. Keeps the money from say New York from trying to influence their beliefs on other areas of the country.
