How is it still in question if Rashard Robinson is starting?

Miles is still not confirming nor will the pay sites. He's still practicing with the team which means that he's eligible this year. I know collins had a good camp, but there's no way he starts over robinson unless there's some other problem. Anyone have any info or have talked to other players?

I think everybody knows Robinson should be starting, but the coaches supposedly are using this as a motivational tool to keep his head straight in the classroom. At least that was the case in fall practice and summer workouts.
Personally I expect him on field majority of snaps....

I do think Robinson is special, but don't forget that Collins was a starter his freshman year as well. That's pretty special in and of itself. We're really stacked at CB.

Right, but I don't see why it has to continue on into gametime. If he did what he had to do to be eligible, which it appears he is, then this seems like overkill

Only because there was no one else remotely ready to play

Well, my point is that the guy has an entire year of experience playing. And as I recall, our 2012 defense was better than last year.

Yea they were far better. Probably moreso because of high draft picks like reid, mingo, minter, etc

I am glad Miles is showing him things are serious before he can actually get in trouble. Sure, he may be doing enough to get by, but what happens if he slips? Nip this thing in the butt before its bad.

BTW - I think he will play most of the game.

So you sit possibly your best player on defense in one of the most important games of the season. Sorry, I don't agree with this logic.

Losing the first game of the season would be terrible for these young guys confidence.

Treat them like men. You have to stand up to them at some point in time.

he only started the A&M game because we started out in nickel. Mills and Tharold were the base starters in 2012. I don't wanna rag on the kid, I like his effort on ST, but Collins got beat out by true freshmen in back to back seasons. and given that his biggest weakness is run defense and our opponent is run-heavy, if he is a starter, I hope he's either much improved or RR comes in fairly quickly.

Sometimes it's about bigger things than football.

Maybe Miles doesn't trust him to stay eligible. What happens if Robinson starts game 1, gets the big head and flunks out? We go undefeated and he's ineligible for the playoffs?

I'd much rather Miles play this one safe.

I think starter is irrelevant these days. They guy sitting the first series has as much a chance as getting more PT than the starter.

LSUSPORTS.net has him listed as the starter in 1 game, it also has 5 DBS listed as having started that game.

However Mills was a starter as a freshmen and got beat out by White and Robinson

He was a starter his sophomore year, and then got ousted by white.
