I have a miniature one.....

Seems as though there's a different way to cure a barrel everywhere on the internet.

Right now, I keep putting hot water in it for the water to saturate into the wood for up to a week. Yet, there are other directions that I've read saying not to do it the way I'm doing it. I read to use barrel wax, but I've read not to use barrel wax.....

Any advice to keep it from leaking?

find some oakum

fill cracks with it than keep it full of water.

once it dries, it will leak.

i have one that is for making your own whiskey. They manufacturer told me to fill and drain with water, then fill it again and let it sit for like 24 ours full, then put your alcohol in it.

I did that twice and went through way more liquor than i should have cause it would slow leak and evaporate (even when filled all the way})

so maybe i did something wrong, but it was annoying.

A shot of penicillin should do the trick....
