Apple now plans to unveil a new wearable alongside the two next-generation iPhones we told you the company will debut on September 9. (Funny “joke,” Gruber.) The new device will, predictably, make good use of Apple’s HealthKit health and fitness platform. It will also — predictably — make good use of HomeKit, the company’s new framework for controlling connected devices — though it’s not clear how broadly or in what way.

Cool. Been putting off purchasing a Pebble, Fitbit, and other similar bands because of this.

It's amazing that we haven't seen any reliable leaks of what it will look like, especially if it's debut is in less than 2 weeks.

Probably won't ship until November or 2015

But I thought they were already starting to mass produce them? And that's usually where the leaks originate from.

Yeah I'm really having a hard time guessing a price point. Usually when the rumors start flowing you can make a decent educated guess but not this time.

The difficulty with this concept is that not everybody's wrist is the same size.

They could be made in different sizes. I know it won't happen but it looks pretty damned cool.

How does the Nike Fuelband work around this?

Isn't the Nike Fuelband flexible? I've never actually seen one in person.

I don't believe it. There's been no real leaks from the supply line. Since Jobs died Apple hasn;t shown any real ability to control supplier leaks.

Besides. What kind of battery life would it have?
