You might not like the guy, but he makes a whole lot of sense here. Whether you agree with 100% of what he says, it is what his audience NEEDS TO HEAR!!!

And they need to act on it.

Reverend Al

quote:

Sharpton said the “bad apples” must be taken care of within American police departments, but the black community must also be “straight up” about its own issues......We’ve got to clean up our community so we can clean up the United States of America.....should also be outrage by “our killing and shooting and running around gun-toting each other” in places like Chicago.....“Nobody going to help us if we don’t help ourselves,” he said. “Sitting around, feeling sorry for ourselves won’t solve the problems.”

Wow. On point.

NSIAP, Cannot be posted enough.

I hope some politician doesn't drive by and give a political speech at my funeral.

Al may be correct about in this one paragraph, but al has been wrong too many other times. Way wrong.

Because typically Sharpton has been a divider, an opportunist, and part of the problem and not part of the solution.

I do agree with everything he said that you posted, but look at his overall record in this mess and he sucks.

I agree his track record is deplorable. I REALLY LOVE the fact that he said this during the Brown eulogy. Perhaps it will gain traction.....

Perhaps.

Whatever he has done in the past, this is more than Obama and Holder have done during this one episode.

Other things in the link you posted were spot on too.

I just wish others would take up the challenge and bring some common sense to all this gangsta nonsense.

We might start to see Sharpton as the modern day MLK.

Until he publically apologizes for his role in the Tawana Brawley "scandal", I think I'll take what he said with a grain of salt.

This is not as far fetched as it seems. All it takes is for one man to stand against the tide of victimhood and the entire dynamic could be changed. Does he have the courage and stamina to do it?

Remains to be seen.

But kudos to him for making some comments that may have a positive impact.

The fact that he is there giving a speech is purely political

I agree he actually made some sense...for once he actually sounded like a preacher

I still don't like him and I think he is train wreck for black people..He divides

Do black people not know about this?

I actually know at least two other things about him. Like, he is totally illiterate and he was an FBI informant.

The Tawana incident is so incredibly terrible the man should have been shamed into hiding long ago.

He talks like this all the time.

If we should disqualify people because of their mistakes then Reagan would be in the dustbin, not on an airport.

It's when most people learned to never take him serious again.

He and JJ are just starting to realize that with actual intelligent black men like Ben Carson and others arriving on the seen that their game is getting old. The majority of decent, hard working black people don't fall for their bullshite any longer. The black majority has evolved past these two assclowns!

Most likely true. A vocal minority make the loudest noise. I'd wager he doesn't speak for the majority

The biggest race baiters aren't black folks.
