Throw at night at the edge of lights.

Punch holes in a can or two of cat food and toss around the area (pelleted rabbit food works, too)

I'm not familiar with the area you are talking about, but I've caught lots of shrimp wading about 10 feet out in 1-2 feet of water.

Find the dam.
Throw the net down stream.
Fill up the ice chest.

You don't want to get caught over the limit.

Go to Joseph's Harbor for shrimp.

You can stop at Pecan Island Store and get a bag of pogie meal and flour already mixed together. Just add a little water until it is the consistency of dough and toss a few of those in the water every now and then where you are castnetting.

Also be sure and get a tasso poboy while you're there.

I went to josephs harbor thursday and tore up the crabs. they were running like crazy in the first weir on the right. pulling up 10 at a time on my chicken.

I wanted to get some shrimp but they had too many people and I didnt want them to laugh at me trying to use my cast net. I was waiting to go a little later but my boat started acting up so I couldnt make it back to the mud hole or the cement weir.

Guy at work said they caught plenty of shrimp last weekend at the first weir on the left when you take the right at the first tee towards Bertrand canal. He said they were all coming to the too to get oxygen and you could just see them and throw a net on them.
