Recent Smash Bros Roster leaks may be legit?

This roster is very lackluster to me. They cut out a lot of very awesome players from the last game and replaced them with old nostalgic ones just because nostalgia. I will never forgive them for splitting Sheik and Zelda/Samus and the Suit.


I hope the duck hunt dog being in this game is not true. If so, I will not buy this game. They wasted too many spots on the most bland characters you could possibly think of outside of Mega Man and Palutena.

Splitting zelda/sheik and samus/zss is a huge plus imo. I felt gimped in casual play using the smash ball as Samus because I sucked at zss. Sheik and Zelda now get a new down b move and players can specialize in the one they like without having one less move.

Plus, this might not be the full roster. Everyone freaking out about their character being cut needs to calm down.

Here's the rumored list of remaining characters from about 2 weeks ago, and it looks like they were pretty spot-on:



Can't believe we're getting Dark Pit instead of Dark Samus.

I'm still somewhat skeptical as to whether Ridley is going to be a playable character. The Smash Direct from 4 months ago strongly hinted at the fact that he will be a stage boss on Pyrosphere.

I'm also a bit surprised at the amount of clones. Ganondorf, Lucina, Dr. Mario, Dark Pit, Dixie Kong (presumably a clone of Diddy)...

Although, admittedly, I'm quite excited about the roster thus far.

I will, especially for the later two. That was a terrible idea for a Final Smash to absolutely force you to change into another character. I am very good with Samus, but suck at Zero Suit, so basically, while I'd get two kills out of the laser blast, I was really just fricking myself in the long haul, and it makes it pretty unfair to a Samus player. Zelda and Sheik aren't forced to transform into one another, so I don't see why Samus/Zero Suit should be forced into it. Plus Zelda and Sheik gain a new move. Don't see why that is a bad thing at all.

Yeah, bullshite. While I'm not overly find of the Duck Hunt Dog making the roster, it's definitely not going to make me not buy the game. Honestly the Duck Hunt Dog is a perfect trolling Assist Trophy. Ducks fly out, and then the dog mocks you, in that your assist trophy did nothing to help you.

I'm more bummed about Dark Pit and Dr Mario making returns. I know Dr Mario brings nothing to the table, and don't think Dark Pit does either, and both could have been alternate skins. Excited for Ridley and Mewtwo returning though.

Sure they may just be mild alterations, but if they don't detract from anything I see no reason to be upset at their inclusion.

The alternate characters like Dr Mario and Dark Pit are literally just fan service characters that take very little time. They aren't taking up other character slots. Lucina was originally meant as a Marth skin, but became her own character as an afterthought. Those characters are additions and their inclusion doesn't remove a "slot" from another character.

People need to chill out. There have been indications that Nintendo will be entering the DLC space with some of their more popular multiplayer games (Mario Kart 8 rumors and uncovered files show there may be 4 new cups added which is 16 new tracks)
