Sometimes having dual quarterbacks can prove to be a team distraction causing dissension and second guessing of the coaching staff. If that is the course the LSU coaches follow this LSU team will likely be unified behind either player. Usually the dissension occurs when an entrenched older player gets challenged by a younger player for playing time the older player and his allies feel he is entitled to have.

Since there is only a one year difference between Harris and Jennings those alliances have likely not been forges. It also seems the team has high character players and good leadership. One QB may eventually emerge but for now look for split time.

Whats interesting is in the bast there has always been an apparent difference in styles in these situations

Flynn/ RP
JJ/JL

but here they seem to be very similar players. Mobiel Qbs who still think throw first. Should be interesting Harris has the ARM advantage, Jennings has the above the neck advantage for now.

This should also help with continuity and allow them to run the same packages and plays. Hopefully the coaches will stick with a hot hand and not just alternate for the sake of alternation.

He was the backup his freshmen year. Clearly he learned the playbook well enough. That is just an advantage. He is a year ahead.

Well both are well liked. Both have practiced with all of the team. Both are outstanding athletes. Both are high class guys. Both chose to come play here. And both will play.

It's called team for a reason. QB is just another position that has to be filled.

how can you say jennings knows the playbook better than harris or harris better than jennings?

even with a year in the system, they apparently limited the playbook for jennings for the bowl game.

They didn't limit it because he didn't know it, they limited it because they wanted to play safe game manager football with a true freshman getting his first start.

The last two years we didn't have dual quarterbacks and we lost 3 games each season. Most people make too much of changing the quarterback. If they both got talent, it's not a big deal.

Uh... Because if Harris had the knowledge and arm advantage he'd surely be the starter. In other words, the angle of the dangle is directly proportional to the mass of the arse as long as the beat of the meat is kept constant.
