Coach John Fox confirmed Wes Welker suffered a concussion in Saturday's preseason game against the Texans.
Welker's latest head trauma came when trash-talking Texans S D.J. Swearinger hit him up high just before halftime. The 33-year-old slot machine also suffered two concussions last season, with the second one costing him the final three regular-season games. He also had a number of head injuries while with the Patriots, putting his long-term status in some doubt. At this point, he has to think about his health after football. If Welker misses regular season time, Emmanuel Sanders would move into the slot and Andre Caldwell would compete with rookie Cody Latimer for the starting role outside. Note that Caldwell ran ahead of Latimer Saturday night.

So glad I drafted Patterson over Welker

Well its painfully obvious whoever wrote this was trying to cast Swearinger in a negative light.

While he did get Welker in the head, it was because Welker went low, not Swearinger going high. Saying Swearinger hit him high implies that he went high.

Also, trash talking had nothing to do with the hit and looks like an attack on Swearinger's character. Hard-hitting would have been a more relevant adjective than trash-talking.

But maybe its only me that sees it like that.

when you hit someone in the head you hit them high regardless of if they ducked or not. head = high
