Is Obama making a huge mistake by alienating police force and military?

I cannot ever remember a president that has continually pissed on the military and law enforcement like he has. Being a lame duck president you would think for his own safety he would at least pretend that he respects them. It may come back to bite him in his arse.

I thought it was the opposite. It seems that the Feds are equipping the local police with weapons that they have never had before.

I'm confused. I've seen other loons on here implying that the Ferguson thing might have been an inside job and the gov. helped start the unrest so they could give the police more power and more weapons to help create the police state.
Make up you minds people.

President Obama has directed a review of federal programs and funding that allow state and local law-enforcement agencies to acquire surplus military equipment, a senior administration official said Saturday.
The review will include whether the programs are appropriate, if the agencies are getting enough training and guidance to use the equipment and whether the federal government is sufficiently auditing the use of the equipment.
The president hinted Monday that a review was likely in the aftermath of an unarmed Ferguson, Mo., teen being fatally shot by a police officer, which was followed by local law enforcement using military equipment to try to control the ensuing protests and riots.
“I think it's probably useful for us to review how the funding has gone, how local law enforcement has used grant dollars, to make sure that what they’re purchasing is stuff that they actually need, because there is a big difference between our military and our local law enforcement and we don't want those lines blurred,” Obama said.

The plan is to tear our country apart and it is happening right before our eyes.

The question posed in the OP has a faulty premise.

It's only a review. You know what review means in a authoritarian mindset.

This is the only issue I have agreed on with this scumbag since he was elected, the police havee zero business with tanks and military gear, they don't have the training or need to play army.

The military didn't have much use for Clinton, either.

The military's opinion of the president means exactly jack shite. Their job is to obey his lawful orders, whether they love him or hate him. If they start basing their performance on whether they agree with the commander in chief, this country is fricked.

The military blindly supports republicans as much as inner city dwellers blindly support democrats. Nothing Obama does could change that fact or cause him to "lose credibility" that he never had in the first place.

Much of the military, and particularly the junior enlisted, doesn't give two fricks about politics.

Perhaps, but the military as a whole still votes solidly Republican.

When there is a crisis, isn't "President Obama has directed a review" standard practice for the Big O?
Its either a lawsuit or a review.

Not true at all. Much of the military and vastly jr enlisted blindly support republicans.
