How difficult is it to replace soffitt

Got an area sagging. Part looks like it pulled away from house leaving gap
Thinking of just going to measure and get a replacement section
Is it harder to install than what I think?

What do you think?
If you think it's as hard as building a rocket ship from scrath you find in a junk yard and launching it then no. It's not harder than what you think.
If you think its equivalent to ripping a piece of paper in half and gluing it to another ripped piece of paper, then yet it is harder.

can you post a pic of the issue?...can't really envision what you are trying to do...

It's not too bad. I had to replace a small section on mine. Try to be careful with the metal flashing if you have to replace the fascia board. If you are just replacing the plywood on the underside, it's really easy. Good luck

It's just a vinyl section. Not touching the fascia or wood underneath

Example but mine not as bad
Posted on 8/23/14 at 3:49 pm to HailToTheChiz
depends on if the underlying wood is pulled away

that should be very easy to fix...as long as the framework underneath is not rotten...basically just cutting and replacing plywood, if I had to guess...

In this example it looks like the vinyl soffit has popped out and just needs to be popped back in...

Looks like a shoddy job to begin with but, the coil stock (fascia) looks bent. You can put it back in place and just pop the soffit back under the lip of the fascia. From that pic it doesn't look like you need to replace anything. Any rotten wood you can see?
Posted on 8/23/14 at 4:28 pm to HailToTheChiz
with the gutter there I would be concerned there is rot and that the rot has caused the problem....if not then it's a very easy job to pop it back into place.

Wood or vinyl
Don't know why I asked that it's easy but it can be age appropriate but if you are an idiot it can be difficult. But fir the average baller here no problem

Mine is vinyl
And unlike the pic, mine pops out from house side rather than gutter
