Possible, without a doubt.
We can never say for sure.

Based on what premis?

Unlikely - as a teenager she led men in battle, and gained favor in the court of Charles VII - that's significant because Charles VI (Charles the Mad) and others in Charles VII's family had hereditary mental illness - so Charles would would likely to have been able to identify Joan as mentally ill - fairly early on.

I've read papers arguing that all Saints are schizophrenics. Shows you how radical faith is. If God doesn't exist, there have been some crazy people. If he does, some people have done some amazing things for him.
But since most of this board seems atheist, I know the opinion here.

Are you saying he had Cray-dar?

It's possible but I doubt it. Usually those suffering with schizophrenia hear voices telling them to do random, usually absurd things. Her "voices" and "visions" we're quite specific and political in nature. Also, unlike most schizophrenics, she was capable of functioning in normal social settings and was quite coherent even during her trial by the English.
Had she really been Schizophrenic, it would have been obvious to anyone who came into any continued contact with her. Even thigh the disease was not yet named, people even then were still able to see when someone was "not right".

Not likely. Have you ever seen an actual schizophrenic?
Scruffy would say she was an opportunist.
