How much longer do you think life as we know it will continue on Earth?

Some scientist say that we have 100+ years left of natural resources based on the population explosion.

Also NASA shutdown and recently reopened a program that scanned outer space for dangerous asteroids. There are 2 that they know of that are heading our way that could be cataclysmic if they hit us. They don't think they will but what about the ones we don't know about?

Lastly the way things are going in the Middle East with Israel and ISIS you have to believe sooner or later things unwind and Russia and China make a move. The next World War would certainly end life as we know it.

So how much longer do you think we have left?

Plate tectonics will kill us one day no matter what.

That's a pretty bold statement. Care to elaborate

New weapons are 1000x more deadly than the last WW. If we used nukes and the war game scenario occurred nobody wins. With groups like ISIS out there, I don't think they care.

That would be depressing, since I'm hoping we can eventually leave this rock and spread among the stars. As the tag line for Interstellar says: Mankind was born on Earth. It was never meant to die here.

I really hope that's the best movie ever made for your sake bro. Otherwise I'm seriously worried about you.

nobody will use nukes.

Do you even international defense protocals?

It's the age of information. Information is the weapon of choice, not nukes. Everybody in the game understands that nukes can't be used. Small elite spec. ops style combat backed by massive inundation of leaked security breach info will be the name of the game.

No it wouldn't. Didn't you know First Contact with the Vulcans happens after the next World War, ushering in a new era of prosperity for the human race?

That movie is on my radar... I love that quote. Mars is looking more and more like a destination if we can figure out how to create an atmosphere that would sustain life.
