No report per say.......should be a lot better this weekend. The tide is going to be pretty good, and the wind (allegedly)light.

Last weekend, the water was BLACK with a west wind.

Got on a quick top water action bite just outside the pass right at day light. Nice trout and a couple reds. Didn't last long. SIL hooked on something very big that spooled him.

After that, we fished east of GI with no real luck. Small fish everywhere.

I'm heading down this weekend with the yaks, initial plans depending on weather and conditions are to fish the jetties in front the state park, the new kayak launch on the island and maybe the jetties on the bayside near the bridge. Hoping to find fish somewhere.

No reports on fishing as the brother in law fished the RTB tournament last weekent.

He did say that they caught a bunch of crabs on the beach.

Tons of white trout on Elmer's island. A few specks mixed in. Crabs were pretty thick.

Is it bad I was waiting for the Arties punchline?

Tons of whites in front the island by the rocks as well. 34, 2 buddies and myself caught so many we were tired of catching them. Filled a 96 qt chest. cooked them that night for a crowd.

Went crabbing in Grand Isle about 3 weeks ago.

Used turkey necks and wire traps. Caught around 60 crabs in between 2 people after about 5-6 hours.

Highly recommend!
