It's that time of year again. They are everywhere. We just had a blast looking for them on and around the trees.

If you want to teach your kids about science and life cycles and all that, here's a perfectly safe opportunity.

We found about 50-60 of them in about an hour. Plus they can play with them after. I can remember having them battle and stuff when I was a kid, and I'm sure some of y'all do as well. They were better than GI joes because of the crunch.

I have over 50 shells around my house and dead cicadas hanging around there too. No fun.

The racoons in my yard eat them. I can always tell when one is being consumed because it screams.
