Not a reply to your OP but I feel compelled to comment whenever I see ADT.

BE LEERY of them and their contracts. I sold a house that was no longer under contract and had the service cancelled. Received confirmation of the cancellation. They subsequently billed me for two years of "monitoring" (even though the new home owner had a different company) and sought collection action for the debt. Had to get a lawyer to make them go away. They are sketchy and hyper aggressive with their collection efforts.

I already have them and haven't had any problems....yet. Just saw this new pulse and home automation and contemplating getting it.

Took Burke Baker's classes. Passed and getting ready to take exam for license. Any suggestions? Any truth to rumor that Metarie test is easier than BR test?

I have pulse and it's pretty great so far. I travel some for work and it's good to have when the wife is home alone. Like yesterday, she accidentally opened the door to let the dog out and set it off. I got a text and email immediately, could open the app and see exactly what happened (which door/window was opened, etc)

Second this. Sales rep pushed a 3 year contract. I pushed back saying it was likely we would be moving in 2 years or less. Sales rep said that is no problem, we could get out of the contract if we moved, no strings/no questions. Told him that should be in written contract, and he said "no problem." Emailed me the contract later that day to sign, I reviewed it, and it said nothing about termination of contract if I moved. I called him back and he said I didn't need it in the contract, that it was their policy. I called the 1-800 number for verification, and they would not commit to that being their policy. Called the sales rep back and emailed him a specific amendment to the contract addressing this issue and told him it needed to be added or I couldn't sign. He finally added it.

Fast forward a year and half. We move as predicted and I notify ADT in writing and by phone. They keep billing me and I keep calling telling them to stop. They send a "final delinquent" notice and I send them a letter threatening to report them, sue them unless they sent me a final bill showing $0 balance owed. They finally did.

Could be an anomaly, but we went with someone else at our new house. They were able to match ADT prices and the service has been great.
