Is it worth the 1.5 hour drive from my home? I imagine it has some elevation drops up in that area. TIA.

I used to kill bucks and ducks on that piece of property until Weyerhaeuser sold it from under our arse.

So I take it you've never rode the bike trail there...

I guarantee it's my old 4 wheeler trails. There is plenty of undulation. They kept all the same roads. Just paved most of them.

I'm not sure my son can handle a trail labeled "The Beast", but I may give it a try one day soon.

Probably not. Didn't realize son was going

He's eight. Better than most eight yr. olds on a bike.

I used to ride there very often. Lots of steep climbs and a few hairy sections. I rode a lot and it beat me up pretty good almost every time. That said if you aren't in a hurry and trying to blaze through it isn't that bad.
It's a pretty tough ride. I think it's too much for a kid bu then again if you just take your time you might have fun. He'll probably fair better than you now that I think about it.

I had no idea you were that old.

We're not looking to set any speed records. He knows his limits and not embarrassed to walk his bike through a tough part.

I'm 29, Weyerhaeuser sold it when I was about 14.

Depending where you are, Clear Springs Rec Area in Mississippi might be closer, and is a well known MB trail.

I'm coming from the Covington area. The trail you mentioned is no closer, but worth the visit. I have actually rode their on several occasions. Really good trail.

I thought this was the same place.
Clear Springs is Homochitto. My bad. That's what I was talking about. Ignore what I said about Bogue Chitto.

The trace, no hills though.

That's all paved, correct. I've rode the trace on my road bike, but not my MTB.
