I say 8am is perfectly acceptable

I'd say 9-10, but I wouldn't throw a hissy fit if a neighbor was mowing their yard at 8am. 5am? Yeah, that's pretty inconsiderate.

8 am on a weekend is too early. If your neighbor says 9am, I would wait until 9am, unless you want some RoundUp dead spots in your yard.

8 am isn't too bad IMO, but I use the rule of thumb "Never call someone after 9pm or before 9am, unless it's an emergency." Feel like it could apply to this situation too.
