So they had this guy on Ameche (forgot his first name, I came in late to segment), British accent, think he was basketball player, PSU? Anyway, they were discussing the NCAA, its dumb rules & the ND cheating scandal. Then he starts with graduation rates & says,"i have the numbers, but I dont want to mention any schools." Dan asked him why, Ameche said he wanted to be nice. Dan pushed & he said "ok, LSU basketball had a 2.5% grad rate." He didnt mention any other school. I dont remember the time period he was referencing. Didn't we have a bunch of transfers over the last several years? Wouldn't this lower grad rates? Sounds like he saw a number & ran with it. He was kind of a pompous
arse anyway.

Well, I mean, it is pretty shitty.

Graduation rate is a highly misleading statistic, especially in basketball where transfers and early departures are so commonplace relative to the size of each roster. I'd put much more stock in a team GPA than graduation rate.
But it's good fodder to kill air time, and we are currently discussing Dan Lebatard, so good for him I suppose.

LSU's APR in men's basketball for 12-13 was 955, just above the average for public institutions for that sport.

Exactly what do you think it would be for Kentucky, ha!

Well every school has the white kids who never play

You'd think with such a low graduation rate we would have a much better team
But seriously graduation rate in basketball is a joke

That's misleading. Stringer and Coleman graduated this summer.

That would be 2 out of 80 players graduating. Or 1 of 40. Either way. Doesn't add up.

Lebatard and his dad are both dipshits.

I believe he was referring to the late 80s early 90s.

not a brady homer, never have been, but some of the guys he had to throw together just to fill out a roster in those early years weren't very conducive to a high grad rate

Lebatard has his moments. His dad....thats a completely different story.
