I've said it before and I'll say it again. All complaints from fans / players about penalties from smoking weed should be directed at the NFLPA regarding their negotiation of the CBA.

The responsibility rests squarely on their shoulders. They should have bowed up and demanded NBA style policies for weed in the offseason. (ie, you can smoke during offseason).

This was an issue that was important to the players and not overly important to the owners. I think they could've easily gotten this if they really wanted to, but they were too greedy on the money and didnt push the weed policy.

The NFL Owners should be progressive and want these guys to "legally" smoke weed in the off-season if they so choose.

Drinking is WAY worse in the off-season than toking up and playing Madden.

"alright rodger you can hammer us on weed, only if you give us some leeway in smacking our significant others around. "

Everyone is bashing the weed suspensions because Ray Rice KOd his fiance and got two games. Goodell could have levied a longer suspension.

Yeh because old rich white guys tend to be meh on weed.

NFLPA didn't rep it's players well on this issue but the commish and owners haven't shown any indication that less punishment on any issue is something they are ok with.
