ETA: Geez, I go to another floor to take a dump all the time and now when I just want to pee a US government satellite is tracking my movements. On the Moon. FML.

It can't be.

The shadow would be facing the other way, as they area for every other object...

Sunlight is coming from southeast to northwest in that photo.

Shadows are all to the bottom right of each terrain feature. So is the shadow of the "man". The sun is obviously to the "northwest" orientation of the photo.

Think about how you could get that lighting on a crater if that were the case.

It's from the southeast.
