Haven't been home in about 9 months.

Thinking about grabbin a couple bottles of Jameson for my dad since I use to drink all his booze while back home on college breaks.

Now that I have a steady check rollin' in is this an appropriate gift?

Or should I get him something else?

Scruffy's dad is a Woodford fan, but an older Jameson is awesome. 18 yo Jameson is some of the best Scruffy ever had.

I bought my dad a cigar once for fathers day. It was pretty awkward since he doesn't smoke

I hope you're not simply buying the 12 year. Spend some money on the man and buy something nice.

That situation is irrelevant.

Get something nice. If he's a Scotch man, get a nice single-malt. You don't have to break the bank. I'm a big fan of stock Glenfiddich (about $40 per litre) or Glenlivet 15 year French Oak (about $70). You don't need to get too exotic or spend $220 on a bottle of Johnny Blue (which while good, nothing special for that price). I still keep a bottle to impress chicks, though. They never drink it, by the way.

Do you hate your dad or something? Jameson?

Get the old man a 21 year Glenlivet or a Macallan 17. A Scapa 16 if your budget is a bit tight.

Not the same, yes, irrelevant, no. You sound like you want to feel like an adult by buying your old man alcohol; he might not appreciate it.

The OT

For whiskey the man sticks to Bushmill's & Jameson.

His favorite beer's
are Big Sky Nut Brown & Shiner Bock.

If the man likes Jameson I probably wouldn't do this.
