Last Fall, I had the Dish 200 with multi sport package. After football season, I went online and downgraded my programming to the Dish 120 package and cancelled my multi sport package.

Yesterday, I called Dish to get the multi sport package again and upgrade to the Dish 120 Plus package so that I would have the SEC Network.

They told me that I would have access to the standard definition channels immediately, but that a technician would have to come out and "do some work" so that I could have access to the HD channels. They graciously waived the $95 fee for this service.

So what are they trying to pull here? All of my channels worked fine in HD last fall and she could not give me a straight answer as to why they wouldn't work now (with a lesser package). No one ever came out and adjusted anything or did any work when I downgraded in the first place. Seems like they could just flip a switch and turn the channels on again.

I guess that's possible. It's only 13 months old though. I have the Hopper and everything.

What if I never downgraded in the first place? Would my HD channels have just randomly gone out at some point in the last 8 months? Did every customer with the 200 or 120 Plus package have to have a technician come out? I asked these questions and they couldn't or wouldn't give me a straight answer. It was just weird. Made me feel like they were trying to pull one over on me.
