Help me out here. Is ISIS basically just going around to the non US occupied parts of Iraq and killing people and claiming "they're taking their country back" when in reality it's just small towns theyre attacking?

What parts of Iraq do you think the US is currently occupying?

Look at where the ISIS has advanced, and are located and then look at a map that shows lines of sectarian division rather than Government lines.

You know what I'm saying, there are US bases over there, I'm sure they're steering clear of them

There aren't US bases in Iraq. We have a small number of advisers, but we don't have bases full of Americans in Iraq.

The last US forces left Iraq in December of 2011.

I personally think that a portion of the Iraqi military is selling arms and equipment to them. I also don't believe Al Qaeda denounces ISIS as being too brutal. What a joke, that's bullshite. They're one in the same. Its like saying 'my older brother beats everyone's arse, I don't like it but what can you do?'

I'd tell you that you're wrong, but you don't even have the clearance to know even that.....

No US bases in Iraq.

Any modern military will wipe them out in about six hours. There's too much political clout at risk. My thoughts are that they start threatening some oil fields and Iran takes them out.

Close, but I'm sure that it's US selling them the arms.

I have no shame in saying I'm completely dumb in this whole topic. I'll take my lumps and sort thru the SabiDojo's.
