Rank these three scenario's - which would make you happiest?

1. Fournette comes in, is as good as advertised, and essentially lives up to the most reasonable expectations. By game 5, he's as "featured" as an LSU back gets (think Hill last year), Magee has the same type year of year this year that he had last year, as does Kenny Hilliard.
2. Magee steps up, and embodies everything that is "18", and performs, on a weekly basis, as good as he did in the aTm game in 2013. Fournette shows signs of greatness, but is clearly a freshmen that will need a little work. He's not considered a bust by any means - just raw. Hilliard becomes 2013's Magee.
3. All three backs are essentially interchangeable. While running behind an O line that is as good as advertised, they split carries and yardage almost equally. By game 3, you couldn't care less as to who takes the hand off, because you know it'll more than likely be good for 5 yards or better.

I choose
quote:
4. Magee and Fournette both rush for over 1,600 yards with over 14 TD's each, and Hilliard has 15 goalline TD's.

#3 would be ideal, but I think #1 is the most likely.

Seeing as we'll have Fournette the longest and him being better than the other two would mean he has potential to continue to grow and be great, I don't see how you can't pick #1

I actually like #2 out of those.

#3
It's always an advantage for an offense to be able to interchange fresh RB's who bring different looks and styles for the defense to have to deal with.
I will say though that I am a believer in going with the "hot hand" and not just changing out RB's for the sake of changing them out.

1 pretty easily. All three are equally good scenarios to play out for this season. While 1 provides the best case for the future by far.

Can't say that I disagree with either of your points. If I DID disagree, it would be because I think CLM will do everything in his power to be sure that Magee "gets his". Mile's seems to have a track record of really favoring seniors (and I don't disagree with this by the way), and I think that Fournette would have to be a world or two better than Magee to "oust him/take carries from him" - however you choose to phrase it.

Easy.

IMO, #2 is the choice of the sentimentalist. It would be hard for anyone to not have a want to see TM do well.

Obvious is obvious.
This means that both Magee and Hilliard get opportunities to try out for NFL teams and Fournette has Heisman talk for next year... It's the obvious best case scenario for LSU.

I hate that damn interchangeable running back. We need one clear starter and one to come in for a breather every now and then. Backs need to get in rhythm. Not get taken out every two-three plays.

That's becoming a thing of legend on the wiscy boards. Maybe we can get it trending.
