Mideast geopolitics makes strange bedfellows.

quote:

In a letter to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani published by local media on Sunday, Masoud Barzani thanked the Islamic Republic for throwing its weight behind Iraqi Kurds in the face of the ongoing crisis fueled by the ISIL Takfiri terrorists.

The Kurdish leader further said friendly relations and mutual Tehran-Erbil cooperation will definitely consolidate peaceful co-existence between neighboring Iranian and Kurdish people.

Kurdish media reports say Tehran has dispatched shipments of humanitarian aid, including food and medicine, to Iraq’s Kurdistan region since the ISIL militants began their terrorist operations in the northern parts of the Arab country in early June.

Barzani’s comments come as Kurdish Peshmerga forces and the Iraqi troops continue to clash with the ISIL militants in northern Iraq.

Kurdish officials said Peshmerga forces had recently managed to drive the ISIL terrorists out of the towns of Guwair and Makhmur in Iraq’s northern province of Nineveh.

Some Kurdish media have underscored the significant role of Iranian forces and the Iraqi army in liberating the areas from the ISIL’s grip. The media reports say Iranian forces have a decisive presence on the battlefield of the fight against Takfiri terrorists.

Chik-fil-a would have shown that we too, like the muslims, are against homosexuals

I might get a chicken sandwich for lunch.

We all know that power hates a vacuum. When the United States decided to give up being the most powerful force in the world and settle for being "just one of the guys", it was inevitable that others would exploit it.
The Obama administration dithered about helping the Kurds too long and Iran took advantage of the lack of resolve on the part of the President.
There is good news though. Word is that his short game is improving.

I think the responsiblity should fall on Iran, since they were the biggest beneficiaries of W's Iraq War and they have the most to lose if Baghdad falls.
