How come Hollywood hasn't remade Day of the Triffids?

They've remade everyone else and CGI would update it real well.

i've actually wondered this a few times myself. i'd imagine whoever owns the rights won't license it?

BBC actually made an interesting series out of it. Special effects sucked but the storyline was a human society trying to rebuild itself while facing these things.
