Pretty damn close for the chasing phase. I'm skeptical of the pre rut date(s) for my hunting area.

Last years rut was the worst ever for me. Usually when I am home for it I kill a good deer. I only saw one good buck and he was just cruising. I had 7 does at my feeder and he walked on by. It was the strangest rut I have ever hunted.
I don't care when it is this year because I am going to Canada for it.
