Why did they put "Tiger Stadium" on the side and not "Death Valley"

I'm sure this topic came up back when the letters were put on the side of the stadium, but I have always been curious. I think it would have made the stadium look that much more intimidating (not that it needs it) and they would've saved money by using one less letter.

If this topic has been brought up, what was the reasoning behind it?

Because if we did that it would look like we're trying too hard.

Next thing you'll be asking is why they don't wear purple jerseys more often.

They should of stopped calling it that after the FSU game last year.

This bothered me as well until I saw the new "Welcome to Death Valley" sign on the inside South endzone. That's awesome and intimidating for an opposing team to look at with 100k+ people yelling at them

I have no idea how the Death Valley thing started; maybe it was once Deaf Valley and it morphed, or maybe we just plain stole it; either way, we can't put the genie back in the bottle now because it goes back to my grandpa's time. Nighttime game at Death Valley in Tiger Stadium vs a great team/opponent is one of college football's greatest experiences, and only someone really petty would pretend otherwise. ( not saying you're one of those b/c I don't know).

Yeah having "Tiger Stadium" on the outside and "Death Valley" on the inside is good with me.

It was.

But it's always been Tiger Stadium.

Because Death Valley is approximately 1,793 miles from Baton Rouge.

No. Just. No. LSU has by far a better home record than Clemson. Just look it up.
