Why do fans of these NFL teams pay all this money for tickets to these games, get all decked out in team gear and jerseys, and face paint and all that for a game that doesn't matter?

They panned to a shot in the crowd for a preseason game last year involving Green Bay and there was a group of 7 guys going nuts, shirtless with green/yellow face paint on and a letter of "P-A-C-K-E-R-S" painted on their stomachs. For a damn preseason game.

Why?

I enjoy going to preseason games, or did when I watched a retarded amount of college football.

I loved watching guys who were good in college but late round picks to see if they were the future BLANK

well they come with season tickets for starters. and it's fun that you dont have to worry about a result. just tailgate and drink and shite like all other games but you dont have to pay attention to the game and you can just enjoy it.

With that attitude it's basically a huge cocktease...It only makes me more pissed that we don't have football.

when you have season tickets every game costs the same until the playoffs

I would not be heading down tomorrow if they weren't a part of the season ticket package. I will go down, watch some football and probably leave at the half to get a beer at Der Bier Garten.

It's Green Bay Wisconsin dude.....that place revolves around the Packers, they don't give a goddamn if the game doesn't count or not

I like football, but I love basketball. I know when basketball preseason rolls around, I love to watch the games to see some of the development of the younger players.

And it means I finally get to watch my team play after months and months of nothing.

It's fun even though it's preseason. Especially because it doesn't mean anything. You can have a good time and really not give a crap if they win or lose.

The "it's football! football's back!" mindset to me runs it's course about halfway through the second quarter of the first preseason game. Essentially I only watch parts of the first three preseason games, because on the Thursday of the 4th one, college football is on.

i have a question. I dont get why people worry about what other grown me are doing with their lives for enjoyment? Why do people worry what other men are wearing to games, or to the bar, or to the grocery store?

I went to the Saints 49ers preseason game when Williams blitzed the hell out of Alex Smith and Colin Kaepernick, it was awesome. It was like a regular season game. Crowd went nuts! Fun times.
I told the guy next to me Kaepernick sucks! Boy was I wrong.

It doesn't bother me, but I enjoy going to preseason games.

Stress free game with heavy drinking on a Friday or Saturday night in New Orleans.
