I have $1500 deducted from my checking on the 3rd of every month. I try to pay as much extra as possible.

By the way the interest rate is 6.5%

Not having student loans is something for which I thank the powers that be every single day.

Worked my way through school, never had a loan or a grant, walked away with a diploma and zero debt.

Of course, that was in 1984.

Between the wife and I we pay close to $1500/month.

FWIW she's a lawyer, I am an engineer. My portion is only $60/month. She is currently looking for work. Go figure.
