My old barber, Mr. Louis on Maple, abruptly retired, and I'm looking to try a new place.
Anybody been to Magazine? I walk by it regularly, so it is close, but just wondering if it is a good spot or are there better alternatives?

its a fraction of the price of Aiden Gill and better. He used to work over there but quit. Its a solid choice in barber.

No, this place is called Mag barber. It's very close to Napoleon.
Have not been to Aidan Gill, but I did go in to look around once. Nice looking place. Might try them if Mag doesn't work out.

So who is this now? He doesn't work there any more anyway?
Figure I'll give this place a shot since it close to the house.

I go to Aidan Gill and I like it, but it is too damn expensive to go once a month.

Magazine Street Barber Shop is a great place to get a haircut and much cheaper than Aidan Gill. Call in advance, though. They do not take walk-ins. Caesar will do a great job. I've been going there for almost 5 years.

If you want something cheaper, go to Golden Shears, which is also on Magazine.

Its mostly really old guy barbers. I always go to Jackie, who is an old yatty woman that talks my ear off, but she cuts it the way I like it.

If you are new, I would probably try the younger guy with a shaved head.

Cuts are like $15 there.

I hate that place. Caesar is good but the other dudes that work there will give you a shitty cut. The conversation in there can also get weird. Lots of ppl seem to like it though. I just don't find it is worth the price tag, BC I have walked out looking bad.

I go to modern men on hampson, and would recommend it. Another aiden Gill offshoot.
