Saw the James Brown biopic tonight. Gotta say, If Jamie Foxx won the Oscar for Ray, then this guy deserves his own statue. Electric performance. The movie was very solid, deep in parts, but very entertaining as well. In more somber news, the preview of the Hendrix flick is nearly unwatchable. Wish they wouldn't have touched this.

Looks like a great movie but it was released at the worst time. Stupid move by the studio. And the marketing campaign was garbage. Didn't know about this movie until about a week or two ago and it looks oddly similar to Ray and Walk the Line.

It was filmed almost entirely in Natchez MS, with a few scenes filmed in Jackson MS.

Yup they filmed some of the concert scenes at Thalia Mara hall in downtown jackson
