NOLA to Destin

We're taking a scout group snorkeling in Destin Harbor at noon Saturday (leaving NOLA that morning). Thoughts on taking Hwy 98 vs Crestview exit (Hwy 85)? Google says hwy 281 to 98 is about 10 minutes faster in current traffic, but will 98 be a mess on a Saturday between 10 and noon?
Google shows the new toll connector (293) as the slowest, probably because we'd need to go back west on 98 through Destin to get to the harbor.
Also, what's the Mobile tunnel going to be like on a Saturday morning? (Should be passing Mobile around 9 and I know there are alternates via downtown/old tunnel).

The tunnel should be good through Mobile at that time. But it's mobile and mobile fricking blows

Your best bet is just to go through tunnel and go all the way to Crestview and take the new Destin Connector.
Forget about Google. I take this route about 3 times a month. 98 along the beach from Navarre to Destin can be a mofo in the summer.

Tunnel at 9 am should be free flowing no problems there.

Thanks for the tips.
I think the risk/reward for hwy 98 isn't worth it so we're likely to go to Crestview.
