Is this game definitely going to happen or is it just in the works?

I didn't see it on lsusports.net

If so what year will it go down?

This was the first article I found. Miami is debating between playing LSU one year or Alabama another, but not both.

Miami vs LSU/Bama

Hope it doesn't happen. Screw these neutral site games Verge Ausberry keeps shoving down our throats.

Yeah, this is all Verge's idea and he is making Miles & Alleva go along with it.....right. Miles, the AD & the players all love these games. You can't put a number on the exposure we get by playing these games.

Some season ticket holders get pissed, but most see the big picture...it ain't about you. Easy way for us to not get invited to these games....start losing on a consistent basis, you want that?

I may be biased because I hate neutral site games, but I don't get this comment. The game is on ESPN (where it would have been anyway had it been played in either Tiger Stadium or Camp Randall) and it would still get the same amount of coverage on Sportscenter, College Football Live, College Gameday, etc.

The real reason we are playing Wisconsin in Houston was said by Verge:

"We had done Atlanta and Dallas. One of our largest and wealthiest fan bases is in Houston."

It's not about exposure. It's not about playing in a recruiting hotbed. It's about appeasing the LSU alumni in Houston in hopes of getting more money out of them.

"It was never home-and-home," Ausberry said. "We had a mission and that was to play in Houston."

It wasn't like the Advocare Kickoff came looking for LSU an extended an invitation to play. Ausberry was actively seeking a way to set up a game in Houston, and likely played a part in setting the whole thing up.

...and us alumni in Houston are very happy about the Tigers coming to see us for the first time since 1984 vs. Rice. And yes, I do have season tickets and drive to Baton Rouge for home games as well.

The bottom line is that neutral site games help strength of schedule without losing all of the money from giving up a home game in a true home and home series....They aren't going away anytime soon so people need to either A) learn to live with it or B) move on from LSU football.

I know I am stuck with Neutral Site games and have to live with them, but it doesn't mean I ever have to like them. I like the matchups they generate, but I just hate where the games are being played.

That's fine I guess although me I'd try to get over it.....maybe try The Rapist....i mean a therapist.

Also continuing to post about it here perpetuates the fact that our fans are a bunch of whiners.

Or it could be all of those reasons.

Good, it is going to be a blast.

as opposed to the game in college station a couple months later?

These games have little to do with alumni and exposure. You get the same "donation" level from the season ticket holders plus their cost of tickets for the current home schedule. Then you get the bonus of essentially another "donation" from the fans at tickets priced like a bowl game (hell, worse than a bowl game).

It would be fine to do it now and then, but this every year thing has really gotten out of control. And the excitement for the big out of conference home game in tiger stadium has been destroyed.

A decent OOC home or away game would get just as much exposure. I don't buy that these games help with recruiting. We've ALWAYS recruited well out of Texas.

According to Barry Alvarez LSU is going to play Miami in Dallas because we're scared to play them at Sun Life Stadium.

The game in College Station is a mandatory game because both are in the SEC. We only get 5-7K tickets while the game in Houston is basically our choice and we get most of the tickets.
