Someone brought us a Surface tablet with the instructions to install Google Chrome...and yes, motherfricker should have just gotten an Android if he wants to use Google, right?

At first I was thinking this guy must be a halfwit if he can't figure out how to install Chrome.

But then I tried, and it told me I can only install apps from the Windows store.

A little Googling and I realize this thing is running some crap version of windows called Windows RT and it has an ARM based processor in it...I guess that's normal for a tablet but I just assumed that a tablet running Windows would run normal Windows applications. Wrong, of course.

Anyway, I go to the Windows Store on this tablet, and I can't even find a search function. Google tells me there should be a box at the top right, but nope, not there.

WTF is with this thing? Is it completely worthless or what?

The cheap versions of Surface run RT, which sucks.

I don't think Google chrome is in the store. I think you have to go to Googles Website

it's not completely worthless. but, it won't run x86 applications. At least, not easily or very well.

you can install the google search app and it is basically chrome, but still not chrome. I wish I had learned Android before deciding to get the surface 2 amateur. Live and Learn.

Worst tech investment I have made is the surface, never use it, except for light word processing, utter crap compared to the galaxy or ipad

Could not agree more, but I got it cheap and it lets the wife use pinterest and leave me alone for hours at a time so not completely worthless hahaha

That's because you didn't get the Surface 3. It will run anything Windows 8.1 will run, including Chrome. I installed Oracle Enterprise (used for enterprise databases all over the world) on it just to see if it worked - and it did.

Yeah, you should definitely not get the RT version. As I indicated earlier, get the Surface 3. You can run anything on it that you would on a regular Windows 8.1 laptop.

I tried out the first Surface and hated it. Was able to get a Surface3 through work and love it. Definitely has improved, and I use the pen daily
