they are professionals and don't need such nonsense in the epl.

I understand what it's for but it is still dumb. this is not a U12 game

must be amazing so many games get played without spray paint

Wow I don't like spray paint, I must be a troll. I don't remember seeing any used at the Emirates...because the gunners don't need it

I'm pretty sure MLS isn't even making the change. I've seen other leagues in the Western Hemisphere use it.

actually the downfall could be creating a duplicate thread, that was the 1st thread on the page after the stickies.

He said in 2012 that he would be in MLS the next year. He announced a deal a few months into 2014.

Sit down.

You posted your linkless thread while I was going back through the 2012 MLS ASG thread for the quotes that made sense for my thread and its title. It was three minutes of difference in posting, not three hours.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I kinda liked the spray. These dudes try to cheat on every throw in, every free kick. The refs job is hard enough just calling the game, to me this makes it a little easier. Plus I like to see goals scored so when somebody has a free kick I like to know that the players are actually standing 10ft not 7ft9in.

Well they wouldn't need it if these so called professionals didn't act like 12 year olds.

Referring needs to get better. The bullshite running up on throw ins, I also notice bad throws not being called, the players creep up on every free kick, the keeper jumping 5 yds off his line on pks, and for the love of god, corner kicks. I mean some guys clearly place the ball out of the corner, yet the AR just acts like nothing is wrong.

Yes players will cheat on everything.

I can't say that I'm the most critical observer of this, but I do notice a lot of guys placing the ball down outside of the paint for the quarter-circle. However, I can't say that I've noticed a case where the whole of the ball is clearly over the whole of the line. And yes, that IS applicable because if any part of the ball is over that paint then the ball is considered to be in the corner.

The NFL started heading south when it started painting lines on the field. Back in my day, if you got somewhere close to 10 yards, it was a first down. None of this childish line stuff.

maybe, maybe not

Alot depends on home grown talent and youth set ups along with getting players who would usually play in the 2nd divisions in england, spain, germany and italy to play in the MLS. As long are Brazil and Argentina are powers on the national side stage it will be hard passing those leagues b/c the absurd amount of young talent they put out. Those two leagues should be the target for quality in the next 20 years then go from there.
