Just to put things in perspective for those that think taxes cost nothing.

LINK

quote:

In 2014 the Cost of Government Day fell on July 6. This day marks the point during the year when the average American has earned enough income to pay for his or her share of the spending and regulatory burdens imposed by government at the federal, state and local levels. This is the sixth consecutive year that COGD fell in July; prior to President Obama taking office, COGD had never fallen after June 27.

quote:

The full costs of government amount to 51% of GDP. Workers toil 121 days to pay for government spending alone, and 65 days to pay for regulatory costs. All told, Americans labor 186 days to pay off the full burden of government.

Surely to become worse before it gets better.

Make FedGov smaller and less involved in our lives. That's the only way.

This is the ultimate irony. Many Americans are absolutely convinced that their "suffering"
Is caused by "the rich". In reality, it's the government -- which largely spends to satisfy their own greed that is adding to their toil.

The economy went south as it became obvious that Obama was headed to the WH. It was downhill from there; business knew what was coming. But for QE, we'd look like Syria. And if we don't get his ilk out of there, and get the economy going before QE runs dry...we will look like the ME.

You can throw in the creation of the first Terrorist State for his legacy too.

It is amazing how quickly he destroyed America's standing in the world.

1) Crashed American employment - Check
2) Destroyed American Economy - Check
3) Destroyed American border security - Check
4) Imploded American foreign policy - Check
5) Fostered the world's first terrorist state - Check
6) Destroyed America's Credit Rating - Check
7) Increased American dependency on handouts - Check
8) Empowered a once decimated world power - Check
9) Allowed for the 1st aggressive takeover of a sovereign nation - Check
10) Actively and Aggressively divided the country by class - Check

All in just 6 short years.

So they work 186 days for the government, and 179 days for themselves and their family.

The over-reach is unbelievable.

That's what happens when you use an emergency fund like TARP and incorporate it into a yearly baseline budget
