Kidnappers have seized the father of Juventus striker Carlos Tevez in Argentina, according to multiple reports.

Argentina's La Nacion and Italy's Gazzetta dello Sport are both reporting that a car Juan Carlos Cabral was riding in was stopped by assailants at 7 a.m. Tuesday in Moron, in the Western suburbs of the capital city. Subsequently, two demands for ransom have been made to the family.

In Argentina, the secretary of Homeland Security, Sergio Berni, subsequently confirmed the kidnapping, and a task force has been mobilized.

quote:

Local media say a ransom of 40,000 pesos (£3,000; $5,000) was paid.
