George W. Bush has been thoroughly blamed for the economy crashing in 2008 by the Left, and while he deserves blame because it happened on his watch, there was a lot more to it than just Bush's policies. But, I digress.

The world in 2009 was a pretty peaceful place, overall. I travel internationally a lot and have strong contact with the military and things seemed to be winding down by then. YES, there was overreaction in going into Iraq and I wish that we had not, but even that mess was largely contained at that point.

Things were going so well that Obama was able to run on a platform of bringing the troops home and America agreed.

Now?

Obama cannot suggest that we send troops anywhere, because that would undo his one legacy - which was ending two conflicts and bringing troops home, but at what cost? I am all for the troops coming home, by the way, and I am not an interventionist by any means. But, if Bush is blamed for the economy that Obama inherited in 2009, then how does the current state of affairs in hot spots all over the world NOT get laid at Obama's feet?

How does he not own this?

And, since he is president for another 30 months or so, what are his plans to address the problems?

We have not even hit midterm elections and I already feel like Obama is a lame duck with no plan whatsoever and he is just trying to ride this thing out. Well, Obama's remaining time in office is essentially the same amount of time as the time between the attack on Pearl Harbor and D-Day, during WWII, just to put it in perspective.

His time left is more than the amount of time between Fort Sumter and Gettysburg during the Civil War.

His time left is longer than the amount of time we were in WWI.

His time left is just a few months shorter than the entire presidency of JFK.

What is his plan? Or, is America just immobilized until his term is finished?

I am not fan of Obama, but at this point, I really hope he has a plan and I really hope it works. A LOT can go wrong in 30 months of inactivity.

he does own it, and the world is certainly more chaotic now but I think the world today is probably better, assuming you don't live in one of the war zones.

the economic situation is much improved since 2009.

Wut? They world is a thousand times more chaotic right now. Existing tensions/wars/unrest in:
Libya
Syria
Ukraine
Iraq
Afghanistan
Israel
Palestine
Nigeria (w/Boko Haram)

That is a tremendous foreign policy failure regardless if you support BHO or not.

As far as economic recovery, you are correct although failed economic policies within those countries have a lot to do with their lack of emergence from the crash.

well not a thousand times more chaotic. But definitely more chaotic than 2009 that is for sure. But for the most part the rest of the world's economy is better now than in 2009. So the world is probably a better place for most people now than in 2009.

yes, I don't really fault obama for anything but the situation in iraq and afghanastan. he didn't help the situation but its hardly his fault these civil wars are going on.

I really don't know what Obama has done to improve the world economy since 2009, though. It was going to bounce back anyway. You could say that TARP, the Stimulus, and QE have made things better, but yeah, if you pump TRILLIONS of fake money into the world economy over 5 years then things should probably improve. Not sure how much of that was Obama since it was all set in motion by October, 2008 anyway.

Maybe we should give Bush credit for saving the world economy, then.

that is pretty much the extent of it. we have also done backdoor bailouts for much of europe with cheap $$.

He has been a lame duck since ACA except for executive orders and the ignoring of laws by Justice and ICE.
